Workgroup spiritual renewal

We desire to municipalities in which people, nourished by the Word and driven by the Spirit, learn to be radically devoted to Jesus Christ

This is the mission of the Working Group Spiritual Renewal (WGV) which was founded in early 2006 with the aim of helping pastors and congregations in searching and finding pathways to spiritual renewal within the EU Community.

Spiritual renewal means to me: always yourself and municipalities to keep the lesson we are called: The Kingdom of God visible and present in this world because people of this kingdom life. This is m.i. no different shape than those that are radically committed to Jesus Christ and following Him through discipleship trying to make this happen. My desire, my dream is that we as members of the congregation of the Lord and have been able to live in the realization that the spiritual renewal always yours, with each individual. My dream is that we are vital, municipalities will be seeking God's will. The driving force is the Holy Spirit who blows where he wills. Together seek the will of the Lord for our community by fasting, praying and concrete steps.

Jelle Dijkstra (1959), pastor of the Baptist church at New Buinen. At the word "renewal" I think the desire to change and that is pervasive in our society. Things must always "different". But beyond changing properties or "giving new jackets" we do not. We must admit that we are not actually manage to create something totally new. The basket shown time and again later to hang ... we can not. We get no further than some changes ...But we lack the power to radical, roots and all, to change. Innovation is not our work, we must confess. Renewal, spiritual renewal comes from another source, it is the work of the Holy Spirit and desire for innovation is His desire that we should be quite clear. In Acts 1:4 the Lord Jesus says that spiritual renewal begins: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but stay there waiting for the promise of the Father, which ye have heard me speak, will come true.". Wait for the power of the Holy Spirit .... stretch forward to that ... Therefore pray ... "When he comes over you, you will receive power and be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. WGV if we want to expect that Spirit!
