Pakistan Relief

Wednesday 25 August 2010,    News category: Zending en Diaconaat

The Union of Baptist Churches starts a relief action for Pakistan. We ask for your attention to the major flooding taking place in Asia. Recent figures show that 14 million people are affected by the floods in Pakistan and India, many of them have become dependent on aid for their daily survival. The expectation is that the disaster will increase in the coming weeks as the flood moves downstream.

Cooperation with Tear

The Baptist Union works together with partner organization Tear. Tear supports the local partner SSEWA-Pak, which provides assistance to the most vulnerable families. The team distributes food packages with rice, flour, beans and lentils, oil, tea, spices, salt and sugar, plus the necessary cooking utensils for a month. SSEWA-Pak also provides access to clean water and distribution of health and hygiene kits.

Can we ask you to contribute to the work of Tear in Pakistan?

The proceeds can be transferred to giro 9260, Baptist Union of tnv stating 'Pakistan emergency'. The emergency fund will run until November 1, 2010. For questions please contact Hans Riphagen , Sphere responsible consignment & diaconate.
