Ingeborg Janssen, church development worker for the Baptist Union, recently presented the results of her research on healthy churches. In twenty Baptist Churches a "healthy church scan" was done. It looked at a balance between the following seven characteristics.
1. Inspired by faith
2. An outward gaze
3. Seeking what God wants
4. Facing the costs of change and growth
5. Life as a true community
6. Making room for everyone
7. Doing a few things and doing them well
The research shows that the Baptist churches often prefer to do al lot of things and do them as good as possible, and that they desire to seek God's will. Points that many churches can work on, is the look out, and clearly know their exact mission.
